I’m Kate. Wife, fur-mom, and foodie.
When I got married a little over two years ago, I knew how to make a helluva grilled cheese and my mom’s famous chili recipe. Otherwise it was hot pockets or ramen for this girl. My husband, however, lived with his grandparents prior to moving in with me and he had a hot meal on the table every night. I felt like I needed to step my game up.
One Saturday morning, I turned on the Food Network. 8:30 am. The Pioneer Woman. That’s when my obsession with cooking began. Her recipes were so easy to follow, and they’re real-life. Like I’m not going to roll out pasta and thinly slice it into little strips while I crush my own tomatoes for dinner (sorry Giada). Plus, I don’t hate when The Pioneer Woman’s husband makes a cameo… he’s not bad to look at!
It became my routine – Pioneer Woman at 8:30 and 9, Trisha Yearwood at 9:30, and The Kitchen at 10. If I was feeling really lazy, I watched Valerie at 11 too. Don’t judge me. I tried every recipe they would share that morning and eventually I started throwing my own spin on things. After a couple years, I realized I needed to start documenting my recipes, especially the ones that my husband would talk about at work the next day *pumps fist into air*. And that’s when this blog came about!
Bon Appetit!
