Fudge pie, yes please!

Since it’s holiday season, and this is always my go-to dessert, it seems fitting that it be my first blog post. I can’t tell you how many times someone has texted me and asked for my fudge pie recipe. I really don’t even like chocolate, but I could probably eat this whole pie in one sitting and not even feel guilty.

not even sorry

The best part is – it’s so good, but so. easy.

All you need is sugar, butter, eggs, flour, cocoa powder, vanilla, and a pie crust! And if you’re really cutting corners (like I do with this recipe), use a frozen pie crust.

1 frozen pie crust
1 c white sugar
1/4 c flour
3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 c butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract

Now this is the hard part. Don’t get scared away by this. Melt the butter. Literally throw all ingredients in a bowl. Mix. Pour into pie crust.

I know, right.

Bake at 325 F for 25 to 30 minutes. Do the toothpick test and if it comes out clean, you’re ready to roll (or get rolls, whatever).

Alternate recipe: One time, my mom and I accidentally messed up her caramel pie recipe because she had to prebake the crust first, so we switched pie crusts and since my fudge pie needed to bake, I poured my ingredients into a frozen pie crust that had caramel all over the bottom. Talk about a good mistake!
